Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. from the Department of Physics at University of Toronto in August 2019. His thesis involves estimating surface emissions of CO and NOx using chemical transport model with satellite observations of multiple chemical species. His research is related to numerical modelling, data assimilation and providing improved atmospheric chemical state to infer surface pollutants. He joined the CSE project in October 2019, as a post doctorate researcher in the Department of Civil & Mining Engineering.

Dr. Zhang’s current project focusing on assessing the biodiesel operability limit and electric vehicle fuel efficiencies in the present and future climate, by combining temperature dependent industry standards with regional climate models.
